Abstract |
Background. The ethnic factor is important in the development of federal relations. Federalism is an effective method of regulating interregional conflicts. The purpose of the research is to analyze ethnocultural problems in federal relations (on the example of Switzerland and Germany).
Materials and methods. The implementation of research tasks was achieved on the basis of a comprehensive analysis of legal literature. The methodological potential includes methods of comparative legal and formal legal analysis.
Results. The author analyzed the main ethnocultural problems in the federal relations of Switzerland and Germany.
Conclusions. Swiss federalism is a model for possible conflict resolution in multicultural societies. The author pays attention to the Swiss experience in solving religious, cultural and linguistic problems. The state was able to form a successfully integrated and prosperous society. The Swiss system of checks and balances continues to function well. Germany is taking certain measures to balance ethnic relations. However, the situation is less stable than in Switzerland. Germany mistakenly pinned its hopes on a policy of multiculturalism that subsequently collapsed.
